The EMBRAER ERJ-135 and ERJ-145  are twin-engine regional jets designed for short to medium-haul commercial operations, offering reliability, low operating costs, and efficient performance. Built with commonality in systems, cockpit, and handling, both aircraft are widely used by regional airlines, charter services, and government operators around the world.

FSTC EUROPE EMB-135/145 Type Rating course equips pilots with the essential knowledge and skills to operate the EMBRAER EMB-135/145 safely and efficiently. The program includes ground school, full flight simulator sessions, and operational procedures training, following EASA and ICAO standards. Led by experienced TRI/TRE instructors, the course focuses on system understanding, multi-crew coordination, and real-world operational readiness.

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE COURSE?

From 3 up to 4 weeks

From a Fast up to a Normal Progress mainly based on the Sim Availability

WHO CAN JOIN THE COURSE?

  • Any ambitious candidate willing to fly an EMB-135/145 for Airlines, Corporate Business Operators or Privet Owner.

     

  • Be a holder of any FCL Flight Crew Licence.
    [The most common licenses are CPL (A) and ATPL (A)]

  • Have an MCC course completed.
    • Some Authorities require a JOT course completed before the candidate starts the Type Rating Course.
    • In case you are already type rated in any other type before, then the MCC is credited for a lifetime.
    • JOT Course is a mandatory item in case this is your first Jet type Airplane.

       

  • Have a valid MEP/IR if this is the first Type Rating, you will endorse in your Flight Crew Licence.
    • In case you are, or you had been already type rated in any other Multi Engine Aircraft type before, then the only restriction is the seven (7) years elapsed time for the validity of the IR (A) rating. If the seven (7) year time from the last IR (A) rating endorsement has not elapsed yet, you may continue with your EMB-135/145 Type Rating Training unrestricted

       

  • Have completed Advanced UPRT Course
    • If this is your first Type Rating on a multi-pilot aeroplane (like the EMB-135/145), you must have successfully completed the separate EASA Advanced UPRT (FCL.745.A) course.

       

  • Have completed at least 70 hrs as a Pilot in Command (PIC) of Airplanes.

     

  • Have an outstanding English knowledge.
    • Speak and Write fluently to start the Course. Even it is not mandatory during the course, although before you start flying the real aircraft you must achieve a minimum grade level 4 of ELP.

       

  • Have a Valid Medical Certificate
    • Usually, it is a requirement before the Skill Test, but most of the Authorities do not really require it during any Simulator activity.

WHEN CAN I START MY TRAINING?

Any time!
FSTC Europe starts the EMB-135/145 any time is convenient for the Trainee Pilot. A group (of at least 2 pilots) training is much more efficient than one only individual.

Pre-arrangement is required.

  • FMS Training

Practical Training
12 hours SIT (System Integration Training)
32 hours flight training on Full Flight Simulator (FFS) LVL D as following:

  • Normal & Abnormal Procedures (7 sessions) 28 hr (14hr PF / 14hr PM)
  • LOFT – Line Oriented Flight Training (1 session) 4 hr (2hr PF / 2hr PM)

DO I NEED ANY EXTRA TRAINING AFTER MY TYPE RATING SIM TRAINING WITH FSTC?

YES, YOU NEED!

According to EASA Standards you have to accomplish one flight with a TRI in a real airplane where you will complete:

  • Four (4) Take Offs and Landings, including at least one Full Stop Landing.
    (For Multi Pilot Aircrafts (MPAs) where the student pilot has more than 500 hours of MPA experience in aeroplanes of similar size and performance)
  • Six (6) Take Offs and Landings, including at least one Full Stop Landing in all other cases

NOTE: You may accomplish the above-mentioned requirement in the LVL D Simulator as a Zero Flight Total Time (ZFTT), if you meet the following pre-requisites:

  • You have more than 500 hr or 100 route sectors as a pilot of the same category of airplanes (multi pilot turbo jet aircraft certificated to the standards of CS-25 or equivalent Airworthiness Code OR multi pilot turbo-prop airplane with a take-off mass of not less than 10 tons OR a passenger’s aircraft of not than 19 seats)
  • ZFTT is a training accomplished in cooperation with the Air Operator where the candidate trainee will continue to fly.
  • The Air Operator should have held an air operator’s certificate for commercial air transport for at least 1 year.

 

In this case you may start flying in your Company with a TRI (Line Training), before a twenty-one (21) days’ time has elapsed. In a different case you may repeat the ZFTT session.

The EMB-135/145 Rating you receive at FSTC Europe is an EASA approved Rating, recognised by the most Civil Aviation Authorities worldwide. *

The holder can apply for a job immediately.

  • To an Airline (Scheduled or Non-Scheduled Operator) or to any Private Operator (aircraft owner), operating the EMB135/145
