Is it a time you want to fly to your favorite destination, but the weather conditions are not reall y VMC – Visual Meteorological Conditions – and you obliged to make an Instrument Approach? FSTC EUROPE Instrument Rating Course will give you the appropriate knowledge and skills to perform any Instrument Departure (SID), fly safely in an Airway, a Standard Arrival (STAR) and Approach and enjoy your trips under Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE COURSE?

From 06 (min) up to 24 (max) months

From a Fast up to a Normal Progress

WHO CAN JOIN THE COURSE?

(prerequisites)

  • Any candidate holding PPL (A) or CPL (A) willing to have the capability to fly under IFR and in IMC (Instrument Meteorological Condition).

    – Have endorsed Night Rating (NR) in his/her Licence.

    – In Case of CPL (A):

    • Have completed at least 50 hr of Cross Country as PIC

WHEN CAN I START MY TRAINING?

Any time!

FSTC EUROPE may start IR (A) Rating Courses at the convenience of the candidate. Group training is much more efficient than the individual.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE TRAINING?

Theoretical Training

150 hours of IR Theory (DISTANCE LEARNING – WBT) on the following topics:

  • Aircraft General Knowledge (AGK)
  • IFR Communications (IFR COM)
  • Meteorology (MET)
  • Radio Navigation (RNAV)
  • Human Factors (HF)
  • Air Law (AL)
  • Flight Planning and Monitoring (FP)

*It is Highly recommended the whole ATPL (A) Theory instead of the IR(A) only

Practical Training

50 hours flight (min) training for SEP/IR OR

55 hours flight (min) training for MEP/IR

Including Aircraft and FNPT II on the following flight phases:

    • BASIC INSTRUMENTS – 10 hr (aircraft) including the first solo
    • PROCEDURAL INSTRUMENTS – 40 / 45 hr (SEP / MEP aircraft)

WHAT AIRCRAFT WILL BE USED FOR MY TRAINING?

FSTC EUROPE operates a state-of-the-art fleet to cover your needs:

  • Single Engine Piston: C-172 & Tecnam P2008JC
  • Multi Engine Piston: Tecnam P2006T
  • (All our aircraft fleet is equipped with Glass Cockpit / EFIS)

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AS A HOLDER OF THIS LICENCE?

The IR (A) you receive at FSTC EUROPE is an EASA approved Rating, recognised by most Civil Aviation Authorities worldwide.

The holder can:

  • Fly under IFR in IMC conditions Day and Night, including PBN with a minimum Decision Height (DH) of no less than 200ft (60m).
