AIRBUS A330

FSTC Europe provides the Airbus A330 Type Rating course according to EASA regulations.

Entry Requirements for EASA License holders

  • 70 hours as a pilot-in-command of airplanes
  • Valid ME, IR (multi-engine, instrument rating)
  • Valid CPL (ATPL theory) or ATPL
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • MCC certificate of completion
  • English level 4 according to ICAO requirements

For ICAO License holders

In case the trainee is an ICAO License Holder, other than EASA, the Pre-Entry requirements will be according to their own License Issued Authority Regulations.

  • LVO (Low Visibility Operations)
  • Extra Sessions

The MCC/JOT course can either be integated in your type rating course (please see training footprint) or it can be performed in an FNTP II simulator during your theoretical training.  

A330 Facts you should know

  • The A330's origin dates to the mid-1970s as one of several conceived derivatives of Airbus's first airliner, the A300. 
  • The A330-300, the first variant, took its maiden flight in November 1992 and entered passenger service with Air Inter in January 1994.
  • The A330-200F made its maiden flight on 5 November 2009.
  • Also known as the A330-100, the A330-500 was a proposed "shrink" of the A330-200 version launched in July 2000.
  • In September 2013, Airbus announced a version of the A330-300, named A330 Regional or A330-300 Regional. The A330 Regional have seating for up to around 400 passengers.
